Adventure Folsom Style

One of Mr. Warner's best friends is doing an internship here in California, and is living like 2 hours away from us. After knocking our little hearts out this weekend, we decided to go and give him and his aunt and uncle a little visit! They live just outside of Sacramento in Folsom, Ca. and I love it there. And them. They are some of the sweetest people I have ever met and we could probably consider them family at this point.

We had a few native tour guides on our trip to folsom that made our sweet little two day trip. We saw (almost) all there was to see and obviously I had my camera clicking the entire time. LOVE it up there. The homes are beautiful, the lakes are beautiful. just beautiful beautiful. We saw the sun go down as we over looked this beautiful golf course and it was breathtaking. Not to mention downtown folsom with all of the adorable, vintagey shops you can think of. I was head over heals for this place! I wish we could have stayed longer to look through all of the shops and what not, but from what we saw, we know we will be back. Oh, and you know good ol' Johnny Cash? Like Walk The Line, Johnny Cash? Ya we went and visited the old folsom prison and it felt cool. Like just knowing that J.C. played there, graced his presence and what not. And maybe the fact that we were like ten feet away from the guards who were keeping bad guys in the prison. {insert a kinda scared face here} It was awesome though. So much history in that place. We watched walk the line the line the night before we visited too, so it was a good refresher. I have such a love hate relationship with that man. Okay I'll stop now and you can just see for yourself.

We had a lovely father's day bbq, and even though we weren't able to be with our pops to celebrate their existence, I felt just as much love for them as ever. Really all the men in my life that have taught me what a true father, priesthood holder, and example is. Especially my guy. I have the best partner in crime, and personal comedian that has ever touched this earth, and I can already see the love that he is going to have for our children when it's time to bring some sweet spirits into this world. I'm grateful for him.

There are two VERY different feels between southern california, and northern california... and I always thought that our warn head hearts would be owned by that lovely, sunny beachiness forever.. but after these past few months here up north, that might be changing :/ say whhaatt?? It is so green here, and the sights are to die for. Like it is getting to the point where it might be considered dangerous for me to drive because I can't keep my head from swiveling back and forth at all there is to see. It's a problem and I'm trying to get better. haha

On Friday, July 19th (The day that my sweet Steven Leland Warner started life on this earth), I drove to the far away land of Simi Valley to surprise my big 23 year old kid. I was literally shakin' in my boots as my partner and crime, Mal and I drove to the Holiday Inn Express. Then I wanted to pee my pants as we were hiding in the dark hotel room, Behind the beds, waiting for our men to come in the door after a long day of work. We ate some delicious food at a little joint right by their hotel, and then just cuddled. Fun, right? Our time together was short. (like 1 and 1/2 hours short). Us ladies may or may not have gotten emotional as we said good bye to our significant others, and then Mal and I were off and home at one in the morning that night. Wohoo for sporadic, last minute, crazy fun road trips.

It was so quick I only took one picture. This is Mr. Warner's birthday cake with bomb fire candles and the most delicious frosting you will ever taste in your life…

Yes, I know that this little shout out is a little late… but I wanted to make sure that the world knows again (This is pretty much a reminder post, because I already shoved a bunch of mushy gushy awesomeness on insta the day he was actually born) how happy, lucky, ecstatic, overjoyed, etc etc. I am that this man was born and is in my life for forever.

I am the literally the luckiest lady in this universe to have a man who is so hardworking, loving, patient, hilarious, caring, kind, sexy, admirable, spiritual, friendly, considerate, helpful, supportive, classy,  handsome, entertaining, strong, spectacular, the list goes on and on and on… to be my husband.

He is amazing at everything that he does, and never settles for less than his best. He would do anything to make me happy and sacrifices for me every day. I love you Steve. As high as the sky and as deep as the ocean.  You are my hero in so many different ways.

We are going to party all year long in celebration of you. Mark my words.

Pops

Days where we honor those who have taught us all we know are always my favorite. Today being Father's Day... I am especially grateful for the examples that Steve and I have had and continue to have in our lives. Just look at their faces.

The best way to put it is that we love you, and are beyond words grateful for you, and all that you do for us. We will never be able to get enough of you!!!

 Happy dad's day. Go Papas.

Fail

I remembered about five minutes ago, that five days ago was a dang special day... and I sorta forgot to celebrate it...

And I feel like I have failed..
At this whole wife, first year of marriage thing.

 BUT after about ten minutes of sulking in sorrow and remorse, I realized that it is fine.

It is alright to forget sometimes... (even though I still want to kind of cry as I type this)...

I'm sure there are those out there who are gasping with their hand over their mouth, because who in their RIGHT mind forgets to celebrate, or even mention the day they got engaged.

Yes people... I didn't say anything.. not to just the world... since the world needs to know... but to Mr. Warner as well.

Soooo I am going to say it now...

April 17th, 2012 - The love of my life put this beautiful, sparkly ring on my left hand and asked me to be his wife...

It was one of the best days. Ever.. {besides the one where we actually sealed the deal}
I love you Mr. Warner.
Sorry for being the worst and not saying anything to you last Wednesday...
I think you can forgive me though, because:
1) I am pretty sure you forgot too
and
2) I think about it everyday anyways

Thank you for making me your wife!!

Maybe I will remember next year... that is a long shot though..

It's finals week. Over sized shirts and skirts are welcome on this body, and we can't wait until Wednesday comes when all of these overrated tests are over with.

I think you can blame my lack of memory/stupidity on school, and leaving for the summer in a matter of 5 days, and finishing work a day before we leave, accompanied by a yard sale...

Good thing I have the rest of my life to get it right. Boom.

Give Me Sun

Mr. Warner and I went to the sunny side of UT a few weekends ago with my family. My grandpa lives in the most amazing, old church house that we stay in when we need a little get the heck out of town. It was beautiful, and perfect, and full of red rock hikes and lounging in our jammies till the evening hours. We watched the LDS General Conference while we were there too.

I always love being spiritually fed. I think it gives me hope again, that I am not totally failing at this life. It is fantastic. And I am grateful for it. Take a second to get some Godly love yourself. It's worth it.

Besides consuming inspiring words, we spent the rest of our free time exploring outside. Literally all of it. Either that or in our beds dead tired. We found these amazing old mines tucked in and under mounds of rocks, and the discovered THE best little pond oasis I've ever laid eyes on.

Rope swing, freezing water, and we had it all to ourselves. Maybe one of these days I'll share our secret spot with you… just maybe.

^^^we didn't notice that red, KEEP OUT sign until after… we still claim it as ours though^^^

Wanna see how the series of events played out at our secret place? Take a look. We did it over and over and over and over and over again. {I'm short, so husband needed to help me get high enough…}

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

See this picture right here? This was just before we were escorted out of snow canyon by an angry old park ranger that gave all of the adults $150 citations for hiking on a trail that was "closed" due to wildlife preservation. {My husband is a genius and got my citation off as a warning. Hallelujah} He said that we could have harmed the frogs and the lizards. I was dying. It was the most hilarious, unfortunate event ever. Wanna know why I had those quotation marks around the word closed? It's because we were told on. We had a lady tattle on us. This lady was on the trail right in front of us. We passed her, and then she went and told on us. Apparently it was only closed for us. Not her. We all decided that we are going to go and toilet paper Mr. Park Ranger's home, as well as catch all of the lizards we can on our next hike.

We will still be back Snow Canyon, since you are one of the most beautiful things that has ever happened on this Earth.

Ridiculous

So... it would be an understatement to say that I have absolutely failed at blogging this past little while. At this point I'm not even sure what to write about on here, because there is so much that has happened in our awesome/crazy lives up to this point that I would most likely space almost everything that has taken place. And I can't just write an instagram post, because that is what I did two weeks ago, and that is the last post that is on this thing, and that would just be retarded of me.

Consume what you will. I promise I'll get better at this thing.
{These statements will be written in (attempted) periodic order from past to most recent - pictures included where it matters}

Mr Warner and I go on date nights to the mall and reminisce about when we can do things. In this case it was camping.

I got my first pedicure thanks to mama. And then downed Happy Sumo like no one's business (I'm gonna miss that place come summer). My husband was gone, so I was eating my feelings.

I snatched him up from the airport after he dominated southern California. We went to a family party in honor of our cousin Beau becoming a teenager.

My love took me on a shopping date and spoiled me with this lovely piece of clothing. I can't get enough of it.

We celebrated our 7 month anniversary together. On the 25th of March. It was awesome.

We watch our nieces and nephews because we love them a lot. This time we made brownies with Elle and Ivy. PS. Elle eats tomatoes like apples.

We went out to eat with our brothers and sisters. Mama Denise and Papa Kevin treated us all to Tucanos. What lovely people. {Yes that is my creepy husband, and yes that is our hungry brother reminiscing on the amazing food}

I reunited with some of my high school cheer coaches and girlie's. It was great to see them all. I miss cheer. And then I remember I am crazy to miss getting up at 5:45 in the morning for practice, and being so sore that I am confined to my bed for a day. I'll probably still be a cheer coach though. Whatever.

After a day of preparation for this summer, Husband and I took a quick stop to Tortilla Bar. My favorite thing about this whole place was this License plate collage. (No, I didn't think the food was that great... Sorry:/)

We celebrated Easter and baby Tommy was blessed.

We have a lot of family. That we love

Monday was my sister's 17th birthday (It is still weird to say that... I remember when I was 17). Yes she was born on April Fools. Yes she is the one that plays the jokes on everyone.

Oh how I love being married to such a wonderful man.

We are getting away to St. George this weekend. We leave late tonight, and I am just thanking the heavens for the sun, and warm weather.

I've been needing this.

I want to throw up a few brain pukes about service up here in the near future. Mr. Warner and I have had some chilling experiences that I don't ever want to forget.

Keep on Lovin'

We celebrated love day simple this year. Just the way we like it. Because of school and work, the night was taken from us, so we spent time eating a most delicious breakfast in bed together.

My love surprised me with these beauties… {Probably my most favorite gift ever… and I mean ever…}

And I managed to whip together this fun letter.

On one side it had a note to my Mr. Warner, and on the other side, 14 reasons why he is the best husband ever.

It was a successful first married Valentine's Day if I say so myself…

To next year!

{Don't you fret, I haven't forgotten about the wedding love streak that is about to make it's way to this blog. Stay tuned!!!}

These Kids

Ever seen the movie Madeline? The circus part? It always kinda freaked me out (do watch it though, one of my favorite movies. When I was in jr. high it reminded me of how much I really did - don't worry, I still do - love my sisters. Those girls are tight with each other! It's awesome). I went a few years back and graced my presence at the Jordan world circus; I wasn't afraid of getting kidnapped, or having a clown bite my head off, so I figured it would be safe to take these nuggets.

Meet Tessa the Monkey, Bella the … (shy giraffe?) and Chase the lion. These are a few of the nicest wild beasts you'll ever meet. And they don't bite real hard either. {unless they REALLY want cotton candy, or REALLY want to ride the elephant, and the camel, and the donkeys, and get their face painted, and jump in the bouncy house}

My two favorite acts this time?

These dogs were the best… they wouldn't listen to those trainers for the life of them. At one point, I was a little nervous that this whole thing was going to go haywire… the pups were marking their territory all over the place… and it was getting a little out of hand (not just number one people, it was the good stuff too).

And that weird thing on the right? That's a person. She moved her body in ways that I never thought possible.

These kids are my favorite. I love them. I promised them that next year we would stay for the whole thing and not leave during the intermission… (it was 9:30! What circus goes until 11pm?? I was tired, and outta there. These little babes were too, they just didn't know it yet).

PS!!!!! I have been married to the love of my life for 5 months today!! I know, we are cute little newlyweds. We love each other. And we don't care who knows it. I'm going to be celebrating my life with him this weekend, because every day is special and deserves some recognition and hullabaloo in some way. We'll be Gettin' crazy up in here! (I can't wait to find out what our ten year anniversary has in store) Woooo! Thanks for the best 5 months ever Mr. Warner. Let's keep on keepin' on.

Welcome 2013

Remember the bugged out new years bash that I was talking about from the last post? Well, it happened. And it was the most intriguing celebration ever. Mr. Warner and I traveled up to Salt lake City with 4 other couple friends of ours (It's so awesome being married) and we spent the night in one of the funnest, and finest hotels up there. To say that we "Partied Hard" is an understatement.

We began the night by a long awaited feast of Cheesecake Factory takeout. Believe me.. It was very long awaited (like we waited over an hour, long awaited).. but it was good. Especially after 3 of our lovely acquaintances all had the main ingredient of their meals missing… they did get gift cards though, so I guess you can say that it was worth it.

The rest of the night was filled with games that I counted as my work out for the day. Literally, my abs hurt from laughing so hard. Some of the photos taken were not so PG-13 rated… I'll leave those out, just for reader convenience. Promise they are the best though.

We rung in the new year with delicious sparkling cider, and all of the kisses and wishes in the world.

I'll be back with my thoughts on this new year, and even more thoughts on this past year that we've had
(already kind of sad it's over… it was the best to say the least)

Stay tuned
