swimmin

   one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight

Summer is now (obviously) in full swing, and I am in dire need of a new swimsuit. These are some of the glorious water outfit - swimsuits make a fashion statement, don't they? -  I have come across the past little while, and being the indecisive person that I am... there is no way that I am going to come to a conclusion on these beauties. And can we talk about how the peplum on number four can be removed? Genius I tell you.  Considering the fact that all of these would basically break the bank and eliminate any kind of "furniture" money that I would have for our new house, it probably isn't gonna happen. But hey, thinking about it makes me feel better! So we will count on that for right now.

What's your favorite? I need opinions here peeps!

San Fran. Again.

So this past weekend as I was flying home from Utah, my sweet, new friend from out here in california just happened to be on my same flight! And we just happened to be by each other in security - Which was incredibly busy and we almost thought we were going to miss our flight might I add.... She let me pre-board with her because she had her adorable little babe. It rocked. I felt like a celebrity walking past all of those people in line. maybe i'll have a baby just to be able to pre-board. Just kidding.

They still live in Fresno, but were flying to oakland to explore san fran for the day! Long story short, so were Steve and I. So we meshed our plans and it was awesome. I was so happy to have her and her sweet baby Ry (can we talk about how we have the same nick name?) on the plane with me. We were able to chat, get to know each other better, all that good stuff. It was a blessing. Meant to be. We had so much fun spending the day with Landon, Shelby, and Ry. If only we could all live closer!

(Just so you all know. Shelby is incredibly talented at everything. I'm convinced. Go check out her blog here, and swoon over her life, cute style, and the pictures she takes. Pure talent I tell you. I'm hoping she will teach me some of her ways.)

Our day trip consisted of in-n-out (does it surprise you?), and a little stroll along our most favorite pier. Then we went and visited the painted ladies (full-house lovers for life), and mrs. Doubtfire's house! On our way to try and see the Golden Gate Bridge, the fog took over and we were just in clouds the whole time. It was a bummer. It was a cool idea though! haha We also found this sweet little oasis town that had the most photogenic mountains and sailboats.. ahh it was just beautiful. I love where we live.

Utah

Last weekend was a great one.

I went home and saw almost all of my spectacular family and had the most refreshing time. I spent a whole day with my sweet mama filled with yoga, rawtopia, whole foods, and shopping. (literally refreshing, I told you). The yoga class that I went to was so needed. Before we left for the summer I did yoga on a regular basis at 3b, like 5 minutes away from where we lived, and I have missed it so much since we left. I always forget how much it helps me not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Let's not forget to mention how eating lunch at rawtopia helped me physically, mentally, AND emotionally as well. Holy cow face that place is delicious. Seriously. All raw, vegan, gluten free goodness that is so incredibly healthy for you and has that same incredible taste. You can basically feel the health pouring into your body. I'm not even kidding. If you are ever in Sugar House. you HAVE to try it. I felt like I could conquer the world when my mom and I left that place.

Side note: I drank the most delicious chocolate milk from whole foods while I was in Utah. I don't even remember what brand it was. But it was amazing. Considering the fact I HATE milk, like loathe and don't even put it with my cereal (rice milk all the way baby), I got super stoked when I started craving that creamy stuff. I obviously had to go the route of chocolate though. Just to stay safe. And you bet I'll be making a trip to our nearest whole foods to get some of that goodness again.

The main reason I booked this trip was to see Mckenna graduate! She left Orem High with honors upon honors and I was so happy to be able to see her complete that phase of her life! She is way smarter than me. And more talented. But I'm grateful for it.

P.S. I forgot how long those dang things are. 3 hours?? I was dying by the end. Hunger Pangs to the max, and when the Petty girls get Hangry... you don't even wanna know.

I also had a 4.5 hour massage. Ya. you read that right. four and a half flipping hours! I have the most amazing massage therapist. I don't even know why she did that for me, but we did realize that my body was (is) a lot more messed up than we thought it would be.

And whats a trip home without hours and hours with the BFF? It was so good to be able to vent and eat ice cream without feeling horrible again. And that electro dash run was awesome too. Still miss you Hales.

And my mom made me a rice bag out of flax seed. She put lavender in it and it reminds me of her. She is awesome.

Here is my trip in pictures! (I was having so much fun I didn't even think to take out my good camera except for Ken's graduation. Crappy iPhone pics will have to do).

Our pool is open now. Here is to hoping I get a tan this summer! Wohoo!

To Pretty Things and Happy Thoughts

I'm an amateur. That is for sure. But I am loving this new little hobby of mine. It helps that this world of ours is so beautiful, too. And that my husband is so good looking. Sometimes after i take a good picture I get all giddy and feel good about myself. Then i remember that it's that camera that is doing everything haha.

Mr. Warner and I went on our weekly sunday adventure yesterday and visited the beautiful oakland temple. That place seriously is gorgeous. The view from the temple balcony is breathtaking. It over looks the entire city of San Francisco and is just green and lush. Such a great way to spend the Sabbath day. The feelings that I get when walking on such sacred ground are like non other. I'm grateful for those amazing buildings. We also discovered how much we love the city of walnut creek. We decided that it's going to be our new hang out place. Take a gander...

PS. I go home this week for McKenna's graduation!! I can't wait to see all of our family, and friends and breath a little bit of the Utah summer air for a couple of days. The only thing that would make it better is if my love could join me. But someone has gotta work, right? He is the best ever. I'm grateful for him.

(PPS. I went to the chiropractor today and got my neck and back adjusted for the first time. One question. How in the WORLD do your bones make those noises without anything hurting?? Beyond me. Now lets just hope my body stops hurting)

PPPS. I eat almost an entire box of chocolate covered banana slices by myself every day. I'm an addict. and I can't stop. it doesn't help that trader joes is literally in our back yard. Heaven help me.

To pretty things and happy thoughts.

Hello World!

We are alive! If any of you were wondering. We are most definitely alive and well. We are now in the blessed land of California that we love so much for the second summer in a row. I have such a love-hate relationship with these four, warm months out of the year. But surprisingly it is starting to turn into more of the "I'm loving this even though I have to knock on people's doors and get screamed and yelled at for no reason" kinda love. Really. As crazy and weird as it sounds. I love the summers that we have.

Our lives are so simple when we are away for these four months. Its funny because you would think that things would be more stressful, intense, whatever you want to call it (since we have one of the most uncommon jobs in the universe) and even though it is that way sometimes, it's the best. I don't really know how to explain it, and I'm probably making no sense. But the summers that we spend working crazy hours, being exhausted and starved by the end of the day, getting yelled at by complete strangers are so great. They are so great because we get to experience new things that we never would have, we get to go on all different kinds of adventures together, just Steve and I, that we never would have if we didn't sacrifice the things that we do with this job. We grow in ways that are not possible without doing what we do, and it's just great. I love it.

Sappy, cutesy part over. Want to know what we have really been up to lately? For those that really care, it is only three weeks into the summer and we have already had a roller coaster of fun and craziness. The "stories from the doors" are already piling up, and we have finally settled down for the next little while. (I know what you are thinking, "it took you 3 weeks to settles down?")

So we live in Antioch/Brentwood, Ca with about 10 other people from our office. The rest of our buddies are down south a little bit living in Fresno. (aka all of the wives/married friends that we have out here during the summer). We first lived in Fresno, and then a week later decided to move up north for area/knocking/didn't want to drive 4 hours + to work every day. It makes logical sense, but I had an emotional crazy moment because I had just met some of the most amazing ladies that I was going to get to spend the summer with, and was already seeing the light at the end of the long summer tunnel. So it was a rough move. But a needed and beneficial one to say the least. I created some of the most sweet, marvelous relationships that I will carry on forever. Those relationships that even if you don't see each other for months at a time, it doesn't matter cause then you just pick up and are chatter boxes the second you see each other again. Awesome friends like that. It's just all good.

Okay, now the sappy part is really over. I'll stop blabbering my feelings over here.

The best part about the move? We are only ONE hour away from San Francisco! Steve and I took a drive last weekend and explored on a small part of the city - aka the pier. It was beautiful, and I loved it. The drive itself isn't bad either which is a bonus. Maybe we are just used to the california driving so it doesn't phase us anymore. After a long week it was such a great break to just be with the two of us, exploring like we love to do. Our time together is the best.

I will stop writing now so that my novel doesn't bore you, but the pictures below give a pretty good explanation of how beautiful this place is that we live.

Much love peeps,

It's Just Different

I always get weird, nasty homesick feelings when my husband leaves for work. It's mostly just when he goes to sell though. Maybe it is because I know how bad it sucks, and how much I hate it so I just feel strange and sensitive (like I might just cry cause I miss him kinda sensitive) feelings. Who knows. It's hard to explain, but I have all of these emotions right now, cause he left to sell for california today. So now I'm writing about them. It helps :)

I think sometimes he knows when I am getting this way. Like getting ready to send him off and I don't love that he is going kinda thing. Last night he took me to get late night yogurtland cause he knew I liked my outfit and was craving sweet stuff. Even though he was already in his pajamas. He is the best. Really he is, and I don't know if I really share how amazing he is sometimes. Like to other people... And he has this awesome wave with his hair going on right now. I just have a really rad husband. I love him. And his hair.

Oh! And I went to this crazy sweet hair show last night with my sista haley. Like the kind of hair show where you think an animal might crawl out of these ladies heads. It was sweet. And a charity for an amazing cause too! Not to mention I got loads of free shampoo and conditioner samples. The sunflower head was by far my favorite. This is art here people. Pure talent. I would call it a successful time.

P.S. Wasn't the weather amazing yesterday. I ran outside and it made me feel good about myself. I can't wait for spring. OH! And happy "day of being married for a hear and a half!" Mr. Warner! Love it.

This is funny.

I am currently sitting in bed, stuffing my face with the largo, grande-sized kettle corn from Cinemark. Literally, stuffing my face. Like where you are slumped down, face staring at the computer. There are crumbs all over my chest/stomach, and sheets {sorry husband}, hair in a ratted-i-just-woke-up kinda do. I am pretty sure they put some type of drug in this popcorn when we went to see the lego move yesterday (which was amazing. Go see it. I laughed a lot. and I didn't really think I would be in to that kind of thing). But whatever. I'll take it. Even though my stomach is kind of making weird noises now, the bag will probably be gone by the end of the evening.

Funny story though. So Steve and I watched our sweet niece, "Indie Warner" as she calls herself, this past week. We did all sorts of fun things like going to the grocery store, playing with walter the dog, taking two hour baths, etc. but one thing in particular Indie loved, was going to to her cousins house. When it was time to leave, she did NOT want to go. Full on tantrum, and then slapped me.. a few times. Any who, I got mad at her, did the whole little discipline thing, and that was that. Fast forward a couple hours to dinner with my sister. This is how the conversation went:

Me to sister: "So Indie had a little incident a little while ago"

Sister to indie: "Uh-Oh indie, what happened?"
Me to sister: "Indie got mad and hit me"
Indie: "It's okay though..." (In a "lets try to make things better" kinda voice)
Sister to Indie: "Indie! Why did you hit her?"
Indie: "It's a looong story.."

WHAT? "It's a long story"... since when does  a 3 year old even know how to apply that saying? We could not stop laughing. She thought it was hilarious too.

I just added in this beauty because seeing her swim around in her goggles and swim cap every morning, was probably the best ten minutes of my day.
